Jim Char

American guitarist and teacher from Hawai'i, living in Washington. After moving to Los Angeles, Char graduated from Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in 1982. He earned a Master’s Degree of Arts in Education at Leslie College. After touring the US in various rock and pop bands, Char began his 35+ years teaching career, and continues to work as Choir and Drama director for the Auburn School District. Char has taught swing workshops at Wintergrass, Washington Acoustic Music Association, as well as Choir workshops with the Green River Music Educators Association. Married to Bonnie Fire.
