Coming from the cross between “Damoiselle” (in old French) and “Dame Oiseau” (Bird Lady) the group name reflects as much the hybridization of the vintage and colorful jazz styles of compositions as the more poetic and adventurous feather of lyrics that are get married there. French-Canadian Damoizeaux is elegance, finesse, candor : in Kate's voice (Katerine Desrochers) , in the fluid and playful dances of Véro (Véronique Boucher) on drums, in the acrobatic flights of guitars and in the youthful charm of Mat (Mathieu Beaudet) , Jim (Jean-Michel Bérubé) and Vince (Vincent Quirion) . *The core of the group (Bérubé, Beaudet, Quirion, Boucher and Desrochers) started life in 2004 as Le Trio BBQ, releasing two excellent Django Reinhardt gypsy-flavoured jazz in 2008 and 2013
