Peter Mingaars

Peter Mingaars, guitarist, Born 1st of May 1950, was the first guitarist in the Netherlands to receive the official Bachelors degree for jazz guitar at the conservatory in Rotterdam (1981). Teaches jazz guitar and jazz history at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg, Netherlands. Versatile player in styles ranging from swing through bebop and freejazz to samba. For almost twenty years he was member of one of the most prominent contemporary jazz orchestras from Holland: Caoutchouc led by Edison winner Niko Langenhuijsen. With this band he played numerous concerts on many (inter)national stages and festivals (a.o. North Sea jazz festival, Moers, Donaueschingen, Berlin, Paris, Middelheim/Antwerp) and made several lp's (remember...) and CDs with them. As sideman/guest he played with Leroy Jones, Harry Allen, Warren Vaché jr., Bert Boeren, Henk de Laat,Yvonne Walter, Willem Kühne, David Livingstone Jazzmessengers, Antoine Trommelen, Michel Herr, Patrick Artero, Sammy Rimington, Audubon, Steve Yocum, Frank Robberscheuten, Robert veen, Boptet of Swing, Dirk van der Linden, Lillian Boutté, Wim Dijkgraaf.
