Об исполнителе:
The oldest symphony orchestra in the Czech Republic - the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra (WSO) - has its seat in beautiful Mariánské Lázně, right in the heart of Europe. Its history is closely connected with the rise of Mariánské Lázně as a spa town. Since it was founded in 1821, this enduring musical ensemble has undergone many changes. Musicians and many conductors brought innovations with them. The last change took place in 2001; the WSO has become a non-profit organization under the sponsorship of the city of Mariánské Lázně. Year-round orchestral activity consists of subscription symphony concerts, regular concerts on the Colonnade during the summer spa season, and concerts outside of Mariánské Lázně in the cities of Karlovy Vary Region and neighboring Germany. Traditionally, the WSO also maintains cooperation with some music colleges such as in Prague, Weimar, Nuremberg and Zurich in the form of conducting courses. The orchestra also attaches particular importance to performances for schools and concerts for children and parents. Well-known Czech and foreign soloists and choirs regularly perform with the WSO. In its 50-year tradition, the orchestra is closely linked to the renowned Chopin Festival.
