Nashville-based journalist and broadcaster. Born 1922 in Omaha, Nebraska. Died August 17, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 53. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska and a master's degree from the University of Arizona. He served with the Navy in the submarine service 1940-1946 and won the Silver Star for gallantry. Williams started his radio career as night editor for WOW in Omaha in the late 1940s. He went to WSM in 1952. His career included a number of jobs with WSM radio and television as weatherman and newscaster.
