Arijit Chakraborty

Arijit Chakraborty received his formal rigorous training in Hindustani classical music from Pandit Nihar Ranjan Bandopadhyay of the Bishnupur Gharana. His fondness for all forms of music drove him to take up the tutelage of the legendary singer Shri.Ramkumar Chattopadhya after which he started appearing for occasional public performances. He was honored with the prestigious Ananda Sangeet Purashkar for the best Debut Talent of 2002. Since then he has worked in numerous projects, TV serials and some movies. He is already a name to reckon with among the music professionals of today and most importantly he revels in music and enjoys it thoroughly. His recent album Kolkatar Gaan is a tribute to Kolkata music.
