Trained in anthropology, Nuria Rovira Salat is of Spanish origin and made her curiosity for Oriental and Gypsy cultures a passion and an art. Trained with dancers Lamia Saffiedine, Saïda Naït Bouda, Saädiya Souyah among others, she teaches Arab-Berber and Maghreb oriental dances and performs in the Paris region and at many festivals, such as Les Suds à Arles or Bienvenue en tsiganie. She continues her dance journey towards the Gypsy dances, by the hand of Pétia Yourtchenko, Sinoma Jovic and Béatrice Lavielle among others. In 2010, she began her singing career with the Finzi Mosaïque Ensemble, a flagship group on the gipsy scene made in France, then continued her career with other groups such as Radio Thrakia and La Cie Mohein. Trained with Martina Catella and Clotilde Rullaud, she specializes in traditional Mediterranean song. She danced with Stephan Eicher, Fanfaraï, HaÏdouti Orkestar, Tony Gatlif, Jean Marc Zelwer, Ibrahim Maalouf, Titi Robin or even Cirque Romanès, and sings both for the stage and for the cinema by the hand of the composer Armand Amar. His two choreographic creations "Azahar" (2008) and "Les Andalousies, du Bosphore à Gibraltar" (2016), bear witness to his artistic universe; Her latest show, "Helia Luna" brings young audiences a new approach to cultural identity, both in traditional aesthetics and new technologies. In 2017, Nuria created "SYNGA" with the help of her companion, the Franco Malian double bass player Stéphane Zubanu Diarra, they invited young talents from oriental, classical, Gypsy and flamenco music for this new Spanish fusion project. This singer, dancer and choreographer draws on the traditions of the Mediterranean to make a contemporary reinterpretation suited to her life, her work, her art.
