Manuel Machado

Cuban trumpet player, born September 11 1962 in the city of Santa Clara, Villa Clara, Cuba. Settled in Spain since early 90s. He started studying music at the age of 7 but it was not until 1973 when he joined the Olga Alonso Conservatory (elementary level) of his hometown and continued at the National School of Art in the city of Havana where he finished high school with outstanding notes and with several awards to his credit such as Garcia Caturla and Amadeo Roldan, among others. He settled in Spain in the 90s. He has toured and recorded with national and international figures such as Celia Cruz, Paquito D'Rivera, Steve Turre, Chucho Valdes and Irakere, Perico Sambeat, Javier Colina, Bebo Valdes, Chano Dominguez, Jorge Pardo, Joaquin Sabina, Ketama, Paloma San Basilio, Marta Sanchez, Raphel, Luz Casal, Pastora Soler, Miguel Bose, Pasión Vega, Joan Manuel Serrat, Parrita, Enrique Morente, La Barberia del Sur, Isabel Pantoja, Niña Pastori, José Mercé, Rocío Jurado, etc.
