A product of the early 90's House Music scene in Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Danny Moore a.k.a. Ablekid has been entrenched in Electronic Music for over 24 years. Starting in 1989 attending Fridays at Visage in a semi pre-House Music era and later as an older teen sneaking in to the now legendary Aahz club nights, he was instantly mesmerized by this new music and the role of the DJ on the crowd. Having witnessed future legends Sasha & John Digweed along with weekly doses of pioneer DJ's like Kimball Collins, Dave Cannalte, Chris Fortier, Jimmy Van M, and many more, he knew early on that he and all around him were taking part in something very special. After picking up a set of tables in 2000 he honed his skills behind the decks and developed a small following. His smooth blends and attention to detail caught the eye of a few people in the scene. So he began opening for and playing alongside various Florida legends like Magic Mike & Jimmy Joslin, Chris Viets, Paul Moss, Andy Hughes, and Mike & Charlie, a show broadcast live on a 50,000 watt FL radio staion. From 2003 to 2006 he hosted a weekly live internet radio show with fellow Orlando favorite Bert Simmons. Broadcasting from the world renowned Drop Shop in Orlando they played the freshest Progressive House and Breaks tracks of the day. The duo also held a weekly residency at Volume in downtown Orlando spinning deep, soulful Progressive and fresh Techno in a city full of the Florida Breaks sound. It was during this time Danny began making his own productions on various DAWs like Acid, Reason, and Fruity Loops. In 2006 he got a copy of Ableton 4 and never looked back. Hence, Ablekid. Incorporating both his original productions and DJ sets with the new software he knew early on his mission for creating and mixing would be Ableton based. With the newfound technology he remains a purist at heart, never ditching the 1200's or his impressive vinyl collection of classics. In 2009 after a move to the music hotbed of Austin Texas, the Ablekid moniker has seen success in various forms. Releases on Kindred Recordings (Paris), Rapid Fire Records (Miami), and upcoming releases set for later this year on Dance Lab Recordings (Orlando) amount to an impressive discography so far with no end in sight. Additionally his original music productions and series of Ableton-made Old Skool/Aahz mixes are very popular worldwide with over 15,000 downloads from over 130 countries.
