Soul Khula

Straight out of their hometown, Johannesburg, South Africa comes the talented Soul Khula crew , comprising of Craig Massiv, Troye Lilley and Inspirit’s very own Soul Sista. Troye Lilley the first of the trio began DJ-ing back in 1993 at a local bar in Pretoria. Shortly after his love of music was extended still further after a 5 year stay in London, which saw him play slots at night spots such as the Gardening Club (Covent Garden), Gecko Lounge (Camden Town) and Babushka (Notting Hill). Returning to South Africa in 1998 Troye then joined up with producer and DJ Craig Massiv and became involved with a project which was to be the first Jazzworx album and started to save money for his own studio whilst working at the Sugartrax record shop. Troye now runs his own ‘Liquid Loungin’ nights at various venues representing jazzy, deep and eclectic music with many of the best DJ's in the scene. Craig Missiv is certainly not short on his own credentials too. As part of the aforementioned production collective Jazzworx, which received a South African Music Award nomination for best dance album 2001 and best group 2002, he has just released a third album - Aftertouch “The African Reaction” - through Gallo Africa. Also having worked alongside the likes of Dennis Ferrer and remixing Beverley Knight, Craig has recently joined forces with Troye Lilley as “Soul Khula” with the first EP to be released shortly through Gallo Records in South Africa & Inspirit Music for the rest of the world.
