Choshech

Choshech - חושך (darkness) is a Tel Aviv-based project that can be described as a mixture of post-punk, depressive rock, and atmospheric black metal. It started in 2016 as a solo project by Shay Mizrachi (formerly of Undivine Essence and Har (2)) to express his ordeals through songs whose lyrics deal with the subjects of inner conflict, depression, and angst. Once the principal material was recorded, Shay approached his friend Stephan Friedman (Silence & Strength, Dismal Beeches, KCHÖRTOO) to help with drum programming and production. In October 2019, the debut album was self-released digitally and as a promo CD-R. It received extremely positive reviews on the local scene. So far, they played three concerts in Tel Aviv and are planning more performances.
