Mx. Silkman

Mx. Silkman is a co-founder and resident of the queer anarchist electronic music collective IN TRAINING, currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her DJ sets feature deep waves of acidic paranoia-tinged psychedelia, cosmic angst-driven dub and sparse execution of skeletal forms within post-industrial dance music. In addition to her role as a selector, she also produces off-kilter technomusic as Auton, a project with releases out on Jacktone and Tram Planet Records, aimed at the multimedia exploration of insurrectionary moments of rupture against the Leviathanic construct of end-times capitalist futurism. She has also recently started her own imprint for publishing music and text under the name Seith Communiti, which allows her to produce small run cassettes, zines and other printed matter. She additionally maintains an online space of the same name, which is an intentional gesture towards decoupling from the social media opinion market while maintaining a space for writing critical of transactional capitalist models within dance music, queer subculture and social interaction.
