Andreas Warler

German church organist born in Baasem / Eifel, Germany, on 26 August 1965. He is closely related to the Steinfeld Abbey (Kall, Germany) (Basilika Steinfeld / Eifel), having been a pupil of Hermann-Josef-Kolleg located there and having joined the community of Salvatorians (until 2011), whose convent is resident at Steinfeld since 1923. He studied theology in Passau and church music in Aachen with Viktor Scholz and Norbert Richtsteig , graduating in 1992, and in 1996 with Craig Cramer at the University of Notre Dame, USA. Since his time at Kirchenmusikschule St.-Gregorius-Haus, Aachen, he was organist at the Basilika Steinfeld / Eifel, playing its König-Orgel, which is significant amongst church organs of the baroque period in the Rhineland and after restauration in 1981 is back to its condition of 1727. On January 1st 2019 he resigned from his post at Steinfeld taking up duty as church musician for the community of parishes Hellenthal-Schleiden, supervising several organs including the one by Christian Ludwig König (1770), son of Balthasar König, at the Schlosskirche, Schleiden. He recorded several CDs on the Steinfeld König-Orgel and lead the music festivals "Steinfelder Vesperkonzerte" and "Internationaler Orgelsommer" between 1992 and 2019.
