Smartass (3)

Smartass was an Atlanta (USA) based glam band in the late 80s and early 90s. They received some national coverage in 1989 when they were featured in Metal Edge magazine's Rock On The Rise section. With makeup, teased hair, pouty lips, and stage names like Scotty Lynx and Taxi Haskell, it was clear they were catering to the Poison fans out there. In this format, they recorded one five song demo that was released in 1989. Changes were to come, however, and while the name stayed the same, by the time the band released it's full length debut album in 1993, several members had changed as well as the sound and image of the band. Gone was make up, the teased hair and glam names. In their place was a solid blues rock band. Only one song, "Feelin' No Pain" from the 1989 demo survived long enough to appear on the band's 1993 release. The band broke up shortly after their debut was released.
