Michael Herring is JUNO-nominated double-bassist, composer and arranger based in Toronto. His focus is on jazz, both modern and traditional, although he also performs and writes in a wide variety of genres, including folk, world, and pop/rock. He was the recipient of a Chalmers Arts Fellowship (through the Ontario Arts Council) and used it for an extended stay in New York City.
