Belinda Fong

Belinda Fong, also known as Samey Fong and 方心美, is an American singer/songwriter, pop soprano and music producer. She was scouted by Polydor Records, which later merged with Polygram Records and eventually became part of Universal Music Limited, parent company Universal Music Group. Belinda's first releases were two movie soundtracks for blockbuster movie "戀愛季節" - which were released in album by 'Tat Ming Pair II,' a new wave/synth pop band in Hong Kong. Her first solo release was an EP 'Thank You For Your Love.' The lead track 搖擺如火, arranged by Donald Ashley (dubbed the fastest and best drummer in Asia), quickly ascended to Top #1 hit on the Hong Kong Pop Music Dance Chart in summer of 1987. While composing and touring S.E Asia, Belinda released a series of original music that were included in various compilation albums. She was also the featured vocalist for top song writer 'Lam Mun Yee" for her instrumental album "Freedom Zone" - where Belinda's vocal range became recognized as an outstanding pop soprano in Hong Kong. The biggest and most notable jingles she recorded were for Palmolive, Campbell Soup, Macau Radio and various well known international brands.
