Ubu Kung

Ubu Kung started life as Visqueen in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in 2016. Formed by English artist Simon Coates and Filipina vocalist X, their first track was a cover version of 1960s TV theme tune 'White Horses'. The track was featured on 'Easy Listening Vol.1', the first album from experimental arts platform Tse Tse Fly Middle East that was founded by Coates in Dubai. The duo changed their name to Ubu Kung in 2017 when Coates returned to the UK and, in 2021, X was replaced by Lebanese multimedia artist Nour Sokhon. Ubu Kung continue to make experimental noise and music as well as short films.
