Des Tanner

Australian organist (b. Bondi, NSW 1911 - d. USA 1970) Studied violin at the NSW Conservatorium but took piano lessons from Frank Hutchens and organ lessons from Fred School. Began playing organ professionally at the Roxy Theatre in Parramatta in 1932. Later organist at various other theatres. Also broadcast act on the ABC, and toured Australia with Larry Adler 1939. Appeared with Chico Marx at the Tivoli 1948. Later musical director at Radio 2UE. Went to U.S. in 1960s.
