Mexican guitarist and composer. Raúl Zapata, born January 11, 1927 in Tizimín, Yucatán. Raúl says that regarding his relationship with music, he did not carry out any type of study, since he was totally empirical. He worked 15 years with the Los Trincas group, alongside Gaspar Henaine (Capulina) and René Morales later with another group called Los Súper Secos. Through a long artistic career, Raúl Zapata had the opportunity to travel around many parts of the world carrying Mexican music. Among the themes with which he shares credits with Pedro Ocadiz, are: Los Luchadores, Playa Mocambo, Mi Solapa, Sueños De Bohemio and Tu Imagen, to name a few. Los Luchadores is the work that has given him the most satisfaction.
