Gary Smith (58)

British broadcaster, DJ and artist. Together with Richard Pitt, presented & produced Bristol Uncovered on commercial radio in Bristol. The show was eventually picked up by BBC Radio Bristol. Subsequently, Richard & Gary were asked to change their show to become BBC Radio Bristol Introducing, part of the BBC's Introducing network of programmes, showcasing new bands from the area. While Smith eventually left the show becoming an artist, Pitt continued with the show for a number of years. Smith occasional DJs around Bristol on band nights. He also taught "Big" Jeff Johns to DJ using vinyl, though Smith rarely if ever uses vinyl himself. Prior to working on radio, Smith ran the Tongue In Cheek comedy club in Bristol where one of the compares was Simon Pegg.
