American drummer, percussionist, bandleader and writer, born Feb. 11, 1915, in Kittery, Maine - died Oct. 7, 2006. His first big-name dance band experience was with Frankie Carle and later with cruise ship orchestras to South America and Europe. He had his own dance band for four years in New England before joining Local 802 N.Y.C. He played with the New York 6th Symphony (Leopold Stokowski conducting) and the W.O.R. staff orchestra (Mutual Network). He was then a freelance performer, playing for movie music, TV shows and commercials. His recordings include many sessions with Stravinsky over a period of years and with such popular groups as Andre Kostelanetz, Morton Gould, Percy Faith, Robert Russell Bennett, Sauter Finegan, the New York Philharmonic, Arthur Fiedler, Paul Lavalle's "Band of America" on the Cities Service Program, the Goldman Band, Oscan Brandon, etc.
