Astralakt

Astralakt is an American multi-styled electronic music producer, DJ, and visual artist from the Bay Area, California. On January 3, 2020, he released his debut single and visual project under the moniker Astralakt titled "B r e a t h e", after releasing multiple EPs and singles under a different name. Astralakt began his journey as a producer at age 6 when he was given a casio keyboard for his birthday and would record his ideas on cassette tapes. In 2004 at the age of 8 while attending the boys and girls club, he attended his first music workshop where he learned how to structure beats using Sony Acid Screenblast. The following year in 2005 his dad sent him a midi controller and a PC that included Propellerheads Reason and Rebirth and that is when it all began. Once again eager to learn more in the music production world at the age of 11, Astralakt attended an after school computer class where he was exposed to FL Studio. For the next four years, he worked on his craft while promoting his weird techno tunes and hiphop beats on Myspace. In 2012 at the age of 16, Astralakt signed with a production label in LA through whom he produced music for big names such as Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, and more and continued to get placements. In 2013, he found himself creating more outside of the box music and became more focused on originality rather than what was popular. In 2015 after having a mental break, Astralakt went off the grid and moved to Joshua Tree, Ca where he would focus on his own music and develop his own sound. At this point in time is when he started focusing heavily on sound design and experimentation and began his journey into the unknown realms of sound denying anything that sounded popular, or easy to digest. After years of experimenting under different names and perfecting his production skills, in 2020, the moniker Astralakt was born.
