Óscar Bolaños

Mexican percussionist, vocalist and arranger. Oscar Bolaños created in 2006 the Santa Rumba group is a collective formed in Medico D.F. by Mexican and Cuban musicians. The collective builds bridges between both sounds in a rhythmic melting pot baptized as "Afromexicaribeño". La Salsa, El Son Cubano, El Son Jarocho, La Cumbia and El Reggae are included in a serious and very interesting repertoire for the music lover. Bolaños, a tanned ethnomusicologist in Cuba with the best percussionists on the island, travels in 2010 invited by Los Lobos as a percussionist invited to Los Angeles. The result is reflected in two tracks of the album: Chuco`s Cumbia (César Rosas) and La Pistola y el Corazón (Louis Pérez and David Hidalgo)
