Hanna Ekström

Swedish Violist, was born in Hedemora in 1983. After high school at the Conservatory of Music in Falun, she went directly to study at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm where she did a basic education in violin which she then supplemented with a Master's degree in viola. The path has gone from folk music to classical quartet and baroque ensembles on to substitute regularly in the country's symphony orchestras. The genre breadth is large, but what has always been present and recurring is pop music. Her biggest passion is studio recordings. To arrange and add strings to music and make it even better than it already is. In 2007 she met Anna Dager and they have since worked together as each other's closest colleagues. Together they have played and toured with artists such as Emil Jensen, Seinabo Sey, First Aid Kit, Måns Z, Petra Marklund and others. They have also participated in music for TV series such as Miss Friman's War and The Fourth Man and others.
