Об исполнителе:
American Country Western singer, radio and TV personality. Born: December 3, 1924, Miami, Oklahoma. Died: January 9, 2018, in Chico, California (age of 93). Moriss was a Chico icon and long-time KHSL television performer and radio personality and producer. He began his first radio show in Oroville, California in the late-1940s, before beginning a stint in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Following his return from the Army, Moriss performed in various bands in the mid-1950s. In 1956, he began his long-running "Moriss Taylor Show" on KHSL-TV 12 in Chico, Calif. The show featured country music performed by Moriss, with Moriss' reminiscent of the Gene Autry-style, and various guests, laced with several of Moriss' corny jokes. The program ran in original episodes from 1956-1995, with repeat programs airing on Chico television well into the 2010s - one of the longest-running (if not THE longest-running), locally-produced TV series ever created. Moriss retired from KHSL radio in 2013, where he had a concurrent, long-running radio show that began in the 1950s on KHSL 1290, before moving to 103.5 FM. His radio/TV career lasted nearly 70 years. He received an Official Chico Icon Award from the "You Know You're from Chico When..." Facebook group in 2011. Moriss passed away in his sleep, January 9, 2018.
