Kevin Austin

Montreal-based composer, educator, and artist, for over 50 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree in music and a Master’s degree in composition from McGill University. As a professor at Concordia, he founded the Concordia Electroacoustic Music Studios in 1971 and has taught a multitude of courses ranging from sound exploration, music technology, history, sound design for animation, and many more topics at the undergraduate level. He also co-founded the Canadian Electroacoustic Community in the mid-eighties, pioneered the Electroacoustic Studies program at Concordia University, a one-of-a-kind undergraduate education experience, and was the chair of the department of music and director of the Concordia concert hall from 91-94.
