Lauren Brody

Accordionist Lauren Brody is an alumna of pioneering klezmer revival band Kapelye, with whom she toured and recorded for over a decade. She's also a Yiddish singer well known for her unique old-world sound. She has also performed with The Joel Rubin Klezmer Band, Alicia Svigals' Fidl Ensemble and Freylakh, Freylakh. She has also been playing and singing Bulgarian music since the late 1960s. She has lived in Bulgaria for many years and played in the groups Aman, Pitu Guli, Novo Selo, Zhenska Pesna, Merak and Trio Svetlina. She plays accordion and synthesizer.
