Swedish guitarist, born 14 May 1930 in Gothenburg, died 17 March 2008 in Gothenburg. He began his music career in 1947 and played in various orchestras in Gothenburg. During the 1950s he was part of the orchestra Swinging Swedes and also toured with Putte Wickman. In the mid-1960s, he formed the group Scandinavian Five, which was active until 1970. From the 1970s he did musical entertainment together with Povel Ramel and Sture Åkerberg under the heading "Sven Olson's trio - at the piano P. Ramel". An example of the collaboration is "The Sukiyaki Syndrome" in 1984. He also had a role in Povel Ramel's TV series Semlon's Green Valleys. Olson is perhaps best known as a guitarist for seven seasons in Lennart Hyland's TV program Gomorron Sweden, where he was involved from the start in 1977. He also appeared in many café programs on TV. Later he began to devote himself to painting and had several exhibitions in Gothenburg.
