Not to be confused with the English singer Janie Jones (2) who was born in 1941, this Janie Jones is from Richmond California and was born circa 1938. By the age of four she had appeared on stage in a recital and began taking lessons in tap, ballet and acrobatics. By the age of thirteen she had appeared on the Dude Martin TV Show in San Francisco. She graduated from Fremont High School in Oakland at the age of seventeen. By the time she was twenty one she had completed an engagement on the Sammy Kaye TV show and was living in New ork where she had appeared in various supper clubs and TV shows. She had also appeared on the Arthur Godfrey Morning Show. She recorded for Award (2), Jama Records (4) and Tabb Records. In 1959, she had "When Summer Love Has Gone" bw "You Said Goodbye" released on Award AW-156 . Both sides were composed by Joni Roth and produced by Paul Page. Around 1961, 13340973 was released on Jama 501. The credited composer on "My First Romance was G. Lehr, allegedly a re-write of "My Last Romance by George E. Zehr. In 1963, "Salty Tears" bw " Baby, Oh Where Can You Be" was released on Tabb 9130.
