Luciën Vrolijk

Producer of mixes/remixes from The Netherlands, active in mixing for over 35 years now. Known for his mix-items on local and regional Dutch radio stations, such as Extra FM, NH Radio, mediagroep-EVA and RTV Totaal. His mixes are also played on Dutch radio station Radio 10 and in the past on Dutch radio station Radio Veronica. Being a fan of Ben Liebrand's MiniMix, he started mixing really early, when he was approx. 16 years old, using two simple record players and a mixing table. For editing he used the pause button of a cassette deck. Later on he started mixing using CD players and MD players for creating beat loops and editing the mixes. As of 2004 he's switched to digital mixing completely. Luciën has been mixing for over 35 years now. Luciën Vrolijk got his first mix released on DMC Commercial Collection 440 September 2019. It's track 8 titled "80s & 90s Favourites" on CD2 of the September 2019 issue. As of 2020 Luciën Vrolijk started producing remixes. He did a number of remixes of classic Michael Jackson songs, all released by DMC Ltd. UK. He very much loves remixing ‘Golden Oldies’ whenever he gets the chance! So far he’s already remixed tracks of Johnny Cash (‘I Walk The Line’ - ‘Ring Of Fire’ - ‘Folsom Prison Blues’), Roy Orbison (‘Only The Lonely’ - ‘In Dreams’ - ‘Blue Bayou’), Frank Sinatra (‘Fly Me To The Moon [In Other Words]’) and Elvis Presley (‘Burning Love’). All remixes released on DMC. Luciën always stays true to the original version of a song, but with his remixed version he wants to reach a new audience, he tries to introduce the ‘Golden Oldie’ artists that have earned their stripes in music to the young crowd, by making their Classic Songs sound more modern without doing injustice to either song or artist.
