The C.L.O.C. (California Leaders Of Cool) were a Bay Area hip-hop group hailing from the San Jose, California suburb of Milpitas. The group consisted of rappers "MC Kid C" (C. Norwood) and "Milton the Great" (Milton McLaurin) along with DJ Ray Arbuckle and DJ Casper. Milton McLaurin managed to impress the owner of the Los Angeles-based Saturn Records (Cletus Anderson) to sign the group to its independent Black music label. The C.L.O.C. released two singles on Saturn Records between 1985-1986, as well as contributing to the British female rapper CeiLiia's single 473130. Although the group disbanded shortly thereafter, it wasn't long before rapper MC Kid C teamed up with DJ Ray to form the spinoff group Chris & Ray. The duo put out a pair of singles on what would be one of the final releases from Saturn Records between 1988-1989. DJ Ray continued getting involved in various hip-hop projects over the next 25 years, including forming the group Buckle Bros. in the mid 2000's. Chris Norwood later pursued a career in the field of information technology (IT) and later was elected Milpitas School Board Trustee President.
