In the mid-60s in the populous neighborhood of Tepito, Ramón Rojo was a record seller. When reproducing them so that people would listen to them and he would sell them, Ramón was heard by a lady and asked if he was rented for parties, Ramón nodded and they took him to play in a neighborhood of Azcapotzalco where he went with his records and a homemade record player and some speakers he got. There it was presented as "Sonido Aves Del Trópico" ... and that was the beginning in the world "sonidero". This was one of the first "sonidos" in Mexico City, just behind "Sonido Rolas" of San Juan de Aragón and the Perea Family, who was already traveling abroad for its music, by Mr. Manuel Perea and his "Sonido Fascinación" and Mr. Pablo Perea's "Sonido Arcoiris". Genres: Cumbia, Salsa, Gaita, Guaracha, Bachata, Danzón. Somewhat about "Sonidos" and "Sonideros": "Sonidero" is a popular social phenomenon originating in Mexico City1. The term has different meanings and covers the "Sonidero", who is, the disc jockey and animator, owner or not of lights, audio and video equipment - the "Sonido"- used to organize or participate in public street dances - dances or also called "Sonideros" events - where the cultural community fond of this phenomenon called "Movimiento Sonidero" concurs. Some of its singularities are the reproduction of recorded music of so-called tropical genres as different styles of cumbia - with emphasis on Colombian Cumbia, one of its original rhythms, "Mexican Cumbia" and the "Cumbia Sonidera", technically and stylistically originated from of this phenomenon—, salsa, bachata and guaracha; on which the "Sonidero" sends greetings and messages to the public simultaneously to the reproduction of the music. The publicity and identity of the sounds has its own aesthetic, which is present to announce its events permanently in urban spaces of Mexico. In addition to its street dimension, the "Sonidos" are hired for private parties. Equally unique is its referential relationship with Colombia, cumbia and vallenato, incorporating many sounds both elements and flags of that country, even the very names of some sounds. The "Movimiento Sonidero" environment includes the existence of "Sonideras" labels.
