Lizi Blanco

Lizi Blanco - Lead Vocals & guitar (birthday January 22, 1993). With Spanish background Lizi is originally from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and she is arguably best known for fronting Melbourne based band “The Beautiful Monument”. Lizi had a solo, acoustic project going before 2010, which was really the dark old days in which she recorded an album but never released it, because she was already over the indie acoustic scene. Then she turned up as singer, guitarist in Brisbane band “The Ovaries”, which was founded around December 2010 together with Laura MacCormac on drums and Caitlin Stewart on bass and backup vocals. They used the name Ovary as surname, so “Lizi Ovary”, “Laura Ovary” & “Caitlin Ovary”. The band played a mixture of rock, metal and hardcore. Laura played with other bands too, Caitlin worked full-time and Lizi was studying music at the Queensland Conservatorium.” Lizi left The Ovaries at the end of 2011, because she moved to Melbourne in February 2012. In Melbourne during 2012 she turned up as the singer in “To See, To Hear”. In 2013 she started the Melbourne, Victoria, Australia based band The Beautiful Monument, which she still fronts as singer and guitar player. After seven years in Melbourne Lizi moved to Newcastle in New South Wales.
