Palomino Blond is a rock band from Miami. Started in 2018 by guitarists/voclists Carli Acosta and Kyle Fink, the band immediately generated a buzz with their demos and powerful live sets. Within two years, they went from playing house shows and DIY spaces to opening for national acts and playing some of Florida's largest festivals, including The Fest (18, 19 and 20) in Gainesville, Bumblefest in West Palm Beach, Pulp Fest and Mad Soul Festival in Orlando, Sing Out Loud in St. Augustine, and III Points in Miami (2021 + 2022). During this time they hit the studio with Jonathan Nuñez (Torche, Jacuzzi Boys, God Damn) and contributed two songs to a split 12" with Miami's Las Nubes. Faced with a personnel change during the coronavirus pandemic, the band added Carli's cousin Emma Arevalo on drums and their friend & collaborator Peter Allen on bass. They quickly released their self-produced live "Midheaven EP" as a Bandcamp exclusive and played various livestream events, dialing in their new songs and new lineup while grinding away at Jonathan's newly-opened Sound Artillery studios. Once they wrapped production for their debut, they decided they didn't want to make their friends and fans wait months to hear new music, so they self-recorded two brand new songs–Dead Hand and Lo Siento–and released them as as a double-single. Mixed by Jonathan Nuñez and mastered by Piper Payne, the double-single expanded on the foundation laid by the band's demos and showcased the band's dedication to variety in their sound. Then, finally, after years of anticipation, they released their debut album, "ontheinside," on November 19, 2021 (Digital) and February 18, 2022 (Vinyl, CD, Cassette). The credits for record show just how much collective work went into the making it: three recording engineers, three studios, two mix engineers, six band members; seven songs recorded over the course of two years. The album introduces listeners to studio versions of long-time live favorites featuring the band's original lineup, as well as songs written collectively by the band's current members. The band is currently preparing for tours and new recordings in 2022.
