A trio of Melbourne post-punk heavyweights: Harry Howard (Crime & The City Solution, These Immortal Souls, Pink Stainless Tail, Harry Howard & The NDE), Edwina Preston (The Moll Flanders Band, Harry Howard & The NDE) and Ben Hepworth (Repairs, Eastlink, Exek). Atom formed a few years ago when (now label mate) Stuart Grant of Primitive Calculators asked Harry to form a group for a "Little Bands" night at the Old Bar in Melbourne. Harry says he didn’t know how to approach it till he thought of asking Ben. “That immediately felt right and I knew it would be fun and automatically different because of his synths and beats etc. Ed was into that also, so we gave him the call and as luck would have it he came around with some riffs. Everything fell into place from then on.” (H.H.) Little Band rules dictate that a group formed for the night are one-off, but luckily for us, the band ignored that rule, because they were having too much fun and Atom was born. Since then Atom having been playing shows in Melbourne with all sorts of bands, honing their live show (which is dynamic and brilliant) and writing their debut record In Every Dream Home, which, after signing with It Records in 2018 will be out June 2019.
