Acetylene (7)

From Seattle, WA, formed in early 1999, initially as an acoustic duo of Stephanie Wicker (acoustic guitar/vocals) and Jeff JD Wood (upright bass/vocals). McHugh (drummer with Wicker's earlier band "Algae") was recruited several months later to create the electric power trio. "Which Way From Up" was recorded in late 1999 with Tucker Martine and released in April 2000 with a show at the Crocodile Cafe opening for Death Cab For Cutie and Saltine (Ken Stringfellow of The Posies). Acetylene continued to play in and around Seattle in both electric and acoustic iterations until disbanding in 2001.
