After marketing advertisement and marketing communication studies, Ulli started his DJ carreer back in November 1978 in the dance-school Simon in Bad Homburg. His predecessor was none other than Michael Cretu. In, 1980 he became resident DJ in the club Vogue, which was later renamed Omen and became famous as playing a significant role in the history of electronic music. Then, in 1982, he got the chance to become resident in the legendary club Dorian Gray. He stayed there till the end of 1987, and was replaced by Sven Väth. Between 1985 and 1989 he also started working as a producer and free-lance DJ. In 1990 he produced Amir's single Rain. The same year, he contributed to Smoking For Fun's Dale Fuego In 1991 he started working with Danny B and produced his single Life Can Be So Groovy. He also produced L.O.D. Follow Me and Surprise I'm Allright. In 1992, he remixed the French artist Axel Bauer's single Cargo. He produced Brenda Hale's Hey Mr. Love, Brenda Danny B.'s Lovely Dovey and Heaven, Elaine Terry's You Got Me Turnin´Around, and Paris Red Promises. In 1993, he became resident DJ at the Paramount Park until 1998. Between 1995 and 2002 he worked as a DJ at the HR3 Clubnight (renamed XXL Clubnight). He was one of the founder of the Sound of Frankfurt. In 1994 he produced Fluid's single Pour un Flirt, Lamont Feel the Music, Paris Red Ain't Nobody, The Club It's A Love Thing, and Graphixx Neverending Story. He teamed up with Amir Saraf and co-produced many eurodance groups : La Bouche, Le Click, Pearl, Switch, Hysterie's singles Call Me and Midnight Hour, Timbuli and Club X. In 1995 he remixed Marky Mark's single No Mercy and Prince Ital Joe feat. Marky Mark's Rastaman Vibration. He produced Velvet Lipps featz. Rose Zone French Kiss. In 1996 he stood behind Africa Islam feat. Melle Mel's single Rave Da House, Mikado Take Me Baby, Planet Brazil Girl from Ipanema and Eddy Lawson's I Love Music. The same year, Ulli also contributed to Faithless' Salva Mea radio-mixes. In 1997 he produced the project Double Feature and their single Get Closer. 1999 was a very prolific year : he released the track Hypnotic Tango under the name Bell Ami. Then he produced Cantara's Persian Love Song and D.A. 4's singles Virus, Funzone, and What Is Love . Then came Eastwood's High Noon, F.P.I. Project feat. Tahomy Rich in Paradise, Rayo Verde feat. Panterra Donde Va ?, Rodgau Monotones Die Hesse Komme '99, In 2000 he created his own trance project Ultra, which scored a giant hit with their single Free. Then he produced the groups Chapter & Page and Modus. 2003 he released the single Voodoo as Brenner & Mitch under Urban / Motor Music.
