Sergei Ivanovich Metelitsa - photojournalist, one of the best photojournalists in Russia, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. Sergey Metelitsa was born on October 4, 1946 in the city of Lebedyn, Sumy region of Ukraine. In 1965 he graduated from school and was drafted into the Border Troops. He served in the Zaisan border guard of the East Kazakhstan region. Here he got his first camera in his life. In the late 60s, he began working in the Photo Chronicle of the Kazakh Telegraph Agency - KazTAG (Alma-Ata), which was a branch of the Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union. In 1974 he graduated from the Kazakh State University named after S. M. Kirov in Alma-Ata. From December 27, 1974 to May 15, 2005 he worked as his own correspondent for TASS (since 1992 — ITAR-TASS) in the Central Region and North-West of Russia with headquarters in Yaroslavl. Over the years, Sergey Ivanovich has shot thousands of photo reports, traveled all over the world. His archive contains unique photographs of Владимир Высоцкий and Andrei Tarkovsky, Алла Пугачева and Людмила Гурченко, Маргарита Терехова and Иннокентий Смоктуновский, Александр Солженицын and Юрий Любимов, and other famous people.
