Swedish composer, viola player and music educator, born August 18, 1903, died April 28, 1987 in Maria Magdalena parish, Stockholm. He was active as an orchestral musician in the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra 1943–1956 and as a teacher of harmony and counterpoint at the Stockholm Academy of Music 1950–1970, and deputy director of the Academy of Music 1966–1970. Between 1955 and 1985 he was conductor of the Stockholm Academic Orchestra Association and music director of Par Bricole 1944–1971. Uddén was elected as member no. 668 of the Royal Academy of Music on November 26, 1953 and was a board member of the academy 1959–1967. He received the name of professor in 1958. Uddén wrote, among other things, 2 string quartets in 1940 and 1956 and a string trio in 1928.
