Visceral sound band that reassembles the history of extended techniques, abstraction, generation, and implications of sound, and audience assembling. Post traces the special effects genre to Wagner, Jimmy MacDonald’s pioneering applications, Cage’s use of objects and encouragement of the Barron’s experiments in electronic music application of Pierre Shaeffer’s Musique concrète, the day job of Tod Dockstader, Daphne Oram, and Delia Derbyshire, and eventual use of New Music in film. This is played against Cage’s philosophies on the ontology of sound and subsequent development of the “noise table” with the Cunningham Dance Company. The combined result is a Cagean Foley work of notated actions performed in backwards order to a projected series of scenes that are relayed and dis/assembled by the audience through inherent pattern building systems
