Dj Black is a well known Puerto Rican producer and singer who became an instrumental figure in the formation and popularization of reggaeton and hip hop throughout the 1990s into the early 2000s. Dj Black is well known for co-producing numerous songs within Dj Playero's iconic Playero series, including in Playero 40, both parts of Playero 41 and in Deja Vu. Besides co-producing alongside Dj Playero, Dj Black would also find popularity through his own series known as The Warriors, which included various artists including Nando Boom, Hector y Tito, Maicol y Manuel, and many others. Moreover, he would co-produce numerous albums alongside well known artists including Wisin y Yandel, Daddy Yankee, Tempo, and many others. Alongside producing, Dj Black was also known to appear in numerous albums as an artist, appearing in multiple albums and compilations including those of Dj Playero (Playero 39: Respect, Montana Collection Vol. 1 & Playero 40: New Era), Dj Joe (Underground Masters Vol. 2), Buddha's Family and in his own production, The Warriors. By the early 2000s, Dj Black would distinguish himself among other producers as the leading dj for hip hop type beats. In many productions throughout the early 2000s, many if not all that included hip hop rhythms were produced by Dj Black. He would continue to produce throughout the 2000s, appearing in numerous productions including Wisin y Yandel - Los Reyes Del Nuevo Mileneo (2000), Buddha's Family (2001), Eddie Dee - Biografia (2001), The Godfather (2002), Tempo - Exitos (2002), Kilates 2 - Segundo Impact (2003), and many others.
