German classical percussionist, he studied in Freiburg and Paris, in 1988 he joined the ensemble recherche. Numerous recordings, large interest in non-western musical styles and improvisation, own compositions for the theatre and for radioplays, since 2001 he is head of the percussion class at the Musikhochschule in Basel.
