Dean Porter (2)

American guitarist and luthier (1 March 1923 - 13 May 1995, Rushtown, Scioto County, Ohio). He performed on the recordings of many country stars from Nashville, like Chet Atkins, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Cowboy Copas, Connie Smith, Kitty Wells and Little Jimmy Dickens. In the mid-1970s, at Atkins's urging, he was hired to work at the new Gretsch manufacturing operation in Boonville, Arkansas. In this period he was a regular session player at John's Recording Studio. He also provided music for many of Michael Landon (2)'s television shows, including "Bonanza".
