Hubertus Carl Frey (born May 29, 1929 in Wroclaw, † October 23, 2003 in Stuttgart) was a German graphic designer and art director. From the phonetic form of the initial letters of his first names H and C he created his officially registered stage name hace. With this - consistently lowercase - he made himself known and wanted to be addressed only so without the addition of "Herr" (Mr.). His personal corporate design consisted of his beard and his oversized horn-rimmed glasses. From a typographical point of view, the dot at the end of each headline, caption, or address was his trademark. This is also found in some of his designed logos.
