I have been singing since I was a wee lass, but didn't realize my true calling as a singer/songwriter until I received an old hand-me-down guitar from a friend when I was 17. I had been writing poetry for a few year, but when I got that guitar and started teaching myself how to play something clicked. The melodies started to flow out and the lyrics came effortlessly. Writing new songs is the best when is completely engulfs your whole being! Every song I write I strive for honesty in the lyrics, emotion in the melody, and soul in the delivery! What inspires me: LIFE! Simple as that. Every day we are faced with challenges and decisions that affect the course of our day, and ultimately the course of our lives! We experience joy, sadness, frustration, happiness, anger, humor, calmness, chaos, highs, lows, loss, growth, extremes...the list goes on and on. It's those "Life" emotions that inspire me. PEOPLE! The people that surround you make you who you are! How can I be an artist if those around me don't inspire me? Everyone has their own unique story, their own truth. It's those amazing stories and truths that inspire every song I write! I am so lucky to have such an amazing group of people who I can call friends and family that surround me and share their life stories and truths with me.
