The German Shanty Choir is part of the "Marine Kameradschaft von 1900 Bünde e.V." The birth of the choir was on 25 January 1967 and emerged from a vocal group of the Bünder naval youth. It was also the cradle of East-Westphalian shanty singing. The musical direction was taken over a period of 42 years by today's honorary choir director Jürgen Klofac. Since 2009 Joachim Hoeck is the chorus master.
