French trumpet and flute player. Nicolas Auriault studied flute and singing at Poitiers Conservatory of Music. He joined several traditional vocal groups in Madagascar, studied Solfa (Anglican melodic and rhythmic reading) and the trumpet in Cuba. In 1993, he won the "Jeunesses Musicales de France" in Paris with his group in which he composes and sings. He accompanies Mano Solo for 5 years and also played with Alpha Blondy, Samia Farah, Amadou & Mariam, Idir, Zebda, Geoffrey Oryema, Lhasa... Nicolas has had many stage experiences in France (Olympia, Bataclan, Zenith, Francofolies, Vieilles Charrues, ....) and during his various tours abroad (Canada, Colombia, Brazil, Niger, Madagascar, Morocco ...). In 2005, one of his compositions is chosen by France Television for "Tout le sport en direct". In 2006 he founded his own world-music band "NICOMAD". Voted "New Talent" by the RMC radio emission of Jean Jacques Bourdin in 2007, he will also see the clip of "Madagascar La Reine" (one of his composition) becoming the audiovisual and musical support of the international airline of Madagascar (Air Madagascar). In 2008, new clip and new title among the Top 50 in Madagascar. The same year he accompanied international Malagasy artist Joajoby at the Olympia Hall for three months in September. In 2009, he joined El Super Mini Combo Nacional as trumpet, trombone, flute and backing vocalist. In 2011 he joined François Cahen's band that became the Faton Cahen Quintet with his arrival. Nicolas Auriault is currently a member of Noujoum Gnawa.
