David Johnson (81)

David Johnson first became a church organist at age 12yrs. Since then he has given recitals on the organ at the Lyceum in Sydney and has performed on numerous occasions on the organ of The Sydney Town Hall. He has played graduation ceremonies on the organ of the Great Hall of the Sydney University and has performed in the Sydney Opera House. David received his training at the N.S.W. Conservatorium of Music and the Sydney University and Teachers College. In 1971 he was resident Organist at St. John's Church in Camden. David held a Licentiate Diplomate of the London College of Music and his Associate Diplomate in another field. He is also an associate in music Australia He as also presented a two year fellowship research thesis on rhythmic techniques of Olivier Messiaen. He was a member of U.N.E.S.C.O. seminar on music education. He was form master and area secondary music advisor for the N.S.W. Department of Education.
