Birds in Misery

Birds in Misery are an experimental duo, being Sergi Saldaña Massó (AWSER DERF) and Neil Morrison (Oxen Vex). The band name is based on a quote by Werner Herzog, "Of course there is a lot of misery, but it is the same misery that's all around us. The trees here are in misery. The birds are in misery. I don't think they sing, they just screech in pain." The music is based deeply upon an understanding of the natural environment and the human impact upon it. A look at why we should be limiting our destruction of habitats, searching for sustainable power, and looking after our home planet before we destroy it. The listening experience is truly immersive, a feeling akin to being lost in the rain forest and listening to the sounds of the world around us. Sounds come and surround you, bathed in a golden glow of reverb, wispy drones chase you around and lie down comforting your soul.
