US arranger who has worked in country, jazz, soul, funk genres. In 1967, he joined the group Sunday Social and they released two singles, "Vancouver City" / "Soul Sacrifice" in 1970 and "Too Heavy To Carry" / "Soul Break" in 1972. He did the arrangements for both sides of the 1972 single. In 1975 he Graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Music Education. In 1976, he joined Midwest Express Band which later changed it's name to Dartanyan. In 1977, LIsa Larson (2) had a single "Just One More" / "(I Can See) It's The Country Life For Me" released on Double "L" Records which was produced by Harold Luick. Parker and Jim Phinney did the arrangements. In 1979, he arranged and engineered a single for Mark Sexton. The single "Don't Say No to Me Tonight" made the Billboard Country chart. In 1980 he moved to the Ozarks. Along with Jim Phinney, Bob Parker has been described in the book, Live! At the Ozark Opry by Dan William Peek as one of Harold Luick's two lieutenants. They were put on Lee Mace's permanent payroll. Like Phinney, Parker had the musical skills needed to punch up the Ozark Opry Show. They also had the right technical skills to run a recording studio. Parker was the first and only black member of the Opry stage show. In 1982, he moved to California. In 1987 he was in a duo he formed with Stan Jackson called Jackson Blue. With the later addition of Stan Strachan they released an album, Life's Beat on View Park Records. 1n 1997, he moved to San Diego and continued his technology career.
